Twice As Long And Twice The Price
A common belief in business is that almost any project takes twice as long as expected and costs twice as much.
I believe this is also true in personal life.
Have you ever actually timed yourself, walking or traveling anywhere? I’ve found, I grossly under-estimate this time.
Buying groceries, cooking, eating, taking a shower, working out, talking to house-mates or family, going to the bathroom, getting ready to sleep…
Timing an activity like this (which most people will never do) may shock you. It’s challenging to do ANYTHING in less than 15 minutes.
Brainstorming how to optimize shower time sounds frivolous, but I’m sure it only sounds frivolous because you have no idea it’s taking you 30 minutes to undress, shower, dry, and redress each day.
I think most people have no clue that these activies are dominating their day.
They have never considered that 30 x 365 = 180 hours.
Like credit card interest (20% APR = only .05% daily interest) I believe these daily inefficiencies cost much more than they seem.
