Blue Collar work involves physical labor. You’re digging, cutting, welding, forming, or doing some other manufacturing directly.
White Collar workers work in a comfortable office environment with their minds instead of their hands, and typically enjoy a higher salary.
The improved lifestyle of White Collar work is attractive. It’s the American Dream.
Now, there is a new class of worker, No Collar Required.
Work is done strictly with the computer, allowing for productivity from anywhere. With no dress code, we can use the term ‘No Collar’.
This work is often described as ‘Location Independent’. Those who leverage location independent work to travel for long periods of time are called ‘Digital Nomads’.
No Collar work comes with all the benefits White Collar workers enjoy but it comes with a much higher level of personal freedom.

Work From Anywhere – Stay in your hometown or travel the world.

Work On Your Own Time – 9-5 or 7PM-2AM if you want. No daily commute.

Work As You Like – In a tank top (or… naked) at home, or well dressed in a local café or co-working space.
Most importantly, just like with both Blue Collar and White Collar work, you can work on your own specific dream.

You can work for others and enjoy stability, just like a Blue Collar worker in a landscaping company and a White Collar worker in an accounting firm.

You can build a small business like the Blue or White Collar worker who owns the landscaping company or accounting firm.

You can also raise money, grow a massive business and attempt a multi-million dollar exit like the entrepreneurs in Silicone Valley.
White Collar work is ‘work’ without the uncomfortable working conditions of Blue Collar work. No Collar work is White Collar work without the typical lack of freedom.
No Collar work allows for an updated American Dream, reimagined for the globalized world of the 21st century.
We may even be witnessing the birth of a new Social Class, divided between those who enjoy these extended freedoms and those who’s freedom remains curtailed.
